As industrialization intensifies, demand for computing performance and durability has become increasingly more exacting. According to the latest report by Research and Markets in January, the AI-driven high-performance computing (HPC) market will reach US$23.7B worldwide by 2026. As various industries actively push AI, machine learning, IoT, and 5G network with its high density, low latency and faster transmission, the data generated from these application fields will not only be massive; its complexity will increase exponentially. Faced with the need to load, transfer and process extremely large data sets, all eyes are on super computing platforms with super-sized storage capacity, quick read/write access to data, high computing performance and high-speed interconnect. Targeting the mainstream market, Avalue Technology has launched two 19-inch HPC servers, i.e. HPS-621UTA and HPS-621U4A, in either tower workstation or 4U rackmount, providing the best end-to-end applications and incomparable deployment flexibility.

In-place deployment for painless transfer, highly flexible infrastructure configuration

 In comparison to entry-level HPS-246 series, or flagship dual-core HPS-621D4AHPS-621DTA series, Avalue has expanded to mainstream models, completing its product line for HPC servers. Mainstream models HPS-621UTA (Tower workstation) and HPS-621U4A (4U rackmount) support first- and second-generation Intel® Xeon® scalable processors, Intel® C621 chipset, built-in 6-channel DDR4 slot, multicard configuration with three PCIe x 16 or six PCIe x 8 slots, three front 2.5-inch HDD removable modules for easy capacity expansion, and diverse high-speed I/O interfaces (1xRS232, 1xVGA, 6xUSB3.2 and 4xRJ-45 network port). Outstanding thermal management including front and rear fans, and sensors for real-time air flow detection, ensure high stability and reliability even when the HPC server is running at high speed.

 The most distinctive feature in Avalue’s HPC product line is its highly flexible configuration – a wide range of solutions are available according to the requirements of each project. Besides the tower workstation and 4U rackmount models, three industrial-grade motherboards of different performances are available for selection, and L6 barebone system and L10 completely assembled system can be customized and selected. Up to 12 different combinations can be customized by matching different cases, motherboards and systems. Diverse and highly flexible combinations enable customers to achieve painless transfer and in-place deployment without having to change existing infrastructure, greatly improving performance and scalability. Avalue HPC servers are ideal for precision medicine and life sciences, 3D simulation and architecture, genetic engineering, automated manufacturing, smart city and energy sector.

Remote management, real-time rescue, simplified maintenance

 Through baseboard management controller (BMC) and IPMI 2.0 intelligent platform management interface, the administrator can operate and manage remotely from a webpage interface. Smart management, encompassing everything from startup settings, health diagnostics for automatic system status monitoring, to early warning and real-time troubleshooting and rescue, is made easier. In terms of maintenance, the tower workstation model is designed with handle and foldable stand to improve mobility and unit stability. Moreover, whether the unit is tower workstation or 4U rackmount, the design is based on hands-free concept. The case can be removed just by pressing two buttons and sliding the case, providing simpler maintenance and assembly/disassembly, and more installation space. In the event of unknown attack, the case will activate its sensor and send out warning, and create an event log, ensuring data security while providing easy maintenance.

Lower cost of ownership

All Avalue HPC solutions come with complete design certifications, including SI, power and thermal management, and 100% test coverage in mass production to ensure quality stability. Furthermore, all HPC servers are available for at least seven years, minimizing costs and resources required for frequent design certifications or re-certification. With the high scalability and flexibility as described above, customers do not need to throw out their existing systems, saving a substantial amount of expenditure. In addition, pre-sale planning and consultation, such as feasibility assessment report and system configuration recommendation, and reliable after-sales service to enhance product continuity, are provided for all Avalue HPC servers.
